Back Track’s standard Kokoda trekking itinerary – the Campaign itinerary – relates to Teams 1A and 1B and Teams 3 to 13, trekking in a North to South direction from Kokoda to Ower’s Corner. Team 14A (10 days/9 nights) also follows our preferred trekking direction of North to South, however, it varies slightly from our standard trekking itinerary in that we have 1 extra trekking day in Kokoda Village to join in the Fuzzy Wuzzy Day celebrations.
Teams 3A, 3B and 18 trek the Track in the opposite direction, Ower’s Corner north to Kokoda.
If your reason for doing the Track is in respect and for the memory of the soldiers who fought and died there, to understand the history of the campaign, to visit all the sacred sites, for the personal physical and mental challenge and to have a fun, safe experience – then our 9 day/8 night trekking itinerary and our variations are the best and will satisfy all of the reasons mentioned. .
