Introduction to Private Group Treks across the Kokoda Track
Back Track Adventures can provide a fun, safe, professionally operated trekking experience for your Group. We present a well trekked, well researched 9 day/8 night trekking itinerary. In 2011 we are unable to consider private group treks under 9 days/8 nights on the Track as per our brochured itinerary. Our brochured itinerary is 11 days from Australia with 9 days on the Track. Additional days can be booked in PNG after the conclusion of the trek.
We have successfully arranged treks for schools, army cadet groups, and bushwalking clubs.
Important planning information for all group organisers.
Booking Times: If you are considering arranging a private departure for the 2011 trekking season, you must contact us as soon as possible to discuss the possibilities.
Private groups led by a PNG Guide: We will not be providing quotes for private groups lead by a local leader for the 2011 season.
Private groups led by an Australian Leader: The minimum number required to organise a private departure with an Australian leader is 12 paying trekkers.
Private Group Costs
- The cost will be based on 12 paying trekkers.
- A completed booking form and a non-refundable deposit of AUD$600 is required from each particpant.
- Only after we receive the 12 booking forms and deposits will Back Track advise if the private group can be confirmed on the dates you have nominated.
- If we can not confirm your dates, and others suggested by us are not suitable, we will refund all deposits in full immediately.
- Once we have confirmed your trek, each trekker is issued with an invoice. Final payment is due 60 days prior to departure. If the group numbers drop below 12 paying members due to cancellations before final payments are made, each remaining trekker will be surcharged to the full per person amount of our brochured treks.
- For all private groups, the above points are specific additional ‘Conditions of Booking’ that are to be considered in conjunction with our standard Booking Terms and Conditions.

Group organisers: If you are a group organiser and are not absolutely certain that you have the numbers, we suggest that you consider booking into a brochured departure date of your choice and advise all those who may be interested to consider joining you on those dates. We have found that small private groups have no problems sucessfully joining scheduled Team departures.
